COUNTY CUP FINAL U12

MONOTYPE ARROWS 2 A TOOTING & MITCHAM 0

It was a lovely afternoon at Redhill the sun shone and so did all the monotype boys they were superb in every department. The county cup being the biggest prize of all meant a lot to all of them it was a tough game both teams giving everything  Arrows defender Luke Organ cleared of the line after a scramble which was tooting & mitcham best chance of the half  Arrows continued to pressure tooting & mitcham for the remainder of the half  but failed to score .Arrows came out second half a different side, they started to dominate the game and when a corner from Emil Salama found the unmarked skipper Matt Radford he made it 1-0. Arrows then started to up the pace and when Emil was pulled back in the box penalty there was only one decision, Emil stood up and stroked the ball home .tooting & mitcham went 3 up front, the Arrows back 4 who were immense coped so well they only required GK Jordan Markey to pull off one world class save .when the final whistle went, the celebration was something else. Also well done to tooting and mitcham for a good game of football all played in great sprit.

It’s a great achievement to all the boys from monotype who have taken part in this cup. Who most have been together since they were 5 years old, they have a great history so far with a combination of six league and cup titles in 4 years of local football. Who are proud to have a great sponsor from a local shop called Holborn’s .Dean from Holborn’s has been their sponsor from the start and will continue to in the future.

The monotype boys have won the county cup what an achievement something Monotype Arrows will never forget.

U12 SURREY CUP ¼ FINAL

SHEEN LIONS 1 MONOTYPE 5

The Arrows cruised through to the semi final of the county cup with a good performance against sheen. After Arrows disappointment of getting well beaten by Doverhouse in the league cup semi a month ago Arrows were up for this game. Straight from the start they played the ball on the deck, they played some nice one twos also kept possession well and after 10 mins of constant pressure Emil Salama tricked his way through Sheens defence to fire home underneath the unlucky keeper. Arrows continued to press and when Mark Hartley found Jordan Bunyan on the edge of the box he side stepped the defender and smashed the ball home into the bottom corner.Remi Attah was causing Sheen lots of problems with his runs down the right hand side, Arrows third came from a great corner by Mark Hartley he drove the ball straight onto Emil Salamas head to make it 3-0.half time came and Arrows were caught cold from the restart a long ball found Sheens striker who’s direct run was ended when the unlucky Arrows centre half Luke Organ just tangled with the striker leaving the ref no option but to point to the spot. Arrows keeper Jordan Markey was so close to saving it but it just crept under his legs. This gave Sheen a bit of hope and for 10 minutes they were causing Arrows problems, once the Arrows settled again they began to dominate .Goal number 4 came from Cecil Thomas he turned the defender on the edge of the box and struck the ball into the bottom corner. All credit to Sheen they kept battling their heads never dropped, Arrows put the game beyond them when Remi Attahs shot rebounded to skipper Matt Radford he fired home .a great game to watch played in a wonderful spirit by both teams well done to both of you.

TANDRIDGE LEAGUE CUP U12
MONOTYPE ARROWS 9 SUTTON UNITED 1
The Arrows were in brilliant form again as they swept aside there a division opposition to go through to the ¼ final of the cup 2 mins into the game Martin Hammonds shot was parried by the keeper into the path of Jordan Bunyan, Jordan scored again after Dominic Campanys great run round the back of the defence cut the ball back to make it an easy tap in, Jordan then grabbed his hat-trick this time Dave lodge cut the ball back for him. Emil Salama grabbed number 4 outpacing the defence and finishing well. Sutton were awarded a free kick 25 yards out the Sutton player smashed it into the roof of the net giving Jacob Stirrat no chance, this perked Sutton up a bit they had a new sense of belief but just could not get through the Arrows back guard including lad of the week Josh Chandler who continues to be outstanding at left back ,Jordan then turned provider with a neat ball inside to Emil to make it 5-1.number 6 came soon after a great through ball from Luke Organ into the path of Mark Hartley showing great composure he placed the ball in the corner. second half Arrows continued to dominate Sutton tried to play a high line to catch Arrows offside under estimating the intelligence of the Arrows midfield as the forwards stood there not interfering with play Dave Lodge was first to burst through with a great finish to make it 7-1 Matt Radford was next through only to be denied from a great save by Suttons gk Arrows broke through again and Mark Harley found Dave unmarked he rounded the keeper left back Josh made a 50 yard supporting run screaming for the ball if Dave needed him but Dave found the net easily to make it 8-1 second half Arrows keeper Jordan Makey had to make 3 good saves as the Arrows back line switched off .Arrows finished their scoring off when Matt?s free kick was to hot to handle for the keeper and Cecil Thomas was first to react to make it 9-1.
